How to Install the sim card?

Please uncover the upper cover of the device, insert the SIM card as shown, and cover it again, then lock the shell with the 4 bolts included.

Where to Install your Product?

GPSmart GPS Tracker GT02A should be installed in a secure position where it is hidden from view and is properly protected from sharp metal objects, heat radiation, moisture and moving parts. The recommended areas of installation are:

a) Inside the dashboard under the front windshield. However if the windshield has a metallic type window film installed, it may affect the reception of GPS. Change the installation location if this is the case.

GT02A has a built in GSM and GPS antenna. For better and more effective GPS reception, please make sure that the receiving surface (surface with logo printed on it) is facing upwards with no metallic objects above it.

Notes:

  • The GT02A should be installed as covertly as possible so that it will be difficult for car thieves to remove them.
  • Keep the GT02A away from high power electronic devices, such as reverse sensors, anti-theft device or other vehicle communication equipment.
  • Use cable ties or double sided tape to keep the GT02A at a standstill position so that it will not shake when the car is moving.

How to Install the Tracker:

  1. The standard voltage of the device is 9V-50V, the red wire is the positive terminal, and the black wire is the negative terminal.
  2. Please connect the black wire to ground.
  3. Standard installation: connect the GT02A to the car battery terminal, with a 1A FUSE for over-current and short-circuit protection.
  4. Optional installation: connect the GT02A to the car cigarette lighter charger car charger, with a 2A FUSE for over-current and short-circuit protection. Please consult your dealer for this option.

Troubleshooting:

1) There is no GPS reception.

  1. Drive your vehicle outdoors for better GPS signal connectivity. Generally it takes 1-2 minutes to receive the first coordinates.
  2. Check your installation position if you still have not received GPS signal, make sure there is no metal objects above GT02A.

2) There is no GSM reception.

  1. Check if your SIM card is installed correctly.
  2. Your car may be located in an area with weak or no GSM signal (e.g. underground car parking lots). Drive away from your current location and try again.

3) The red indicator does not flash even after the power is connected.

Check if the fuse is blown. If yes, replace it and try again.

4) The 3 LED indicators will not switch on even after the power is connected.

Press on the side function key to switch the device back to normal working mode. The LED should start flashing now.

5) I’ve entered the online tracking platform but my GT02A is showing offline.

  1. Check the LED indicator status. If there is no GSM signal, the GT02A will show offline on the platform.
  2. Check on the status of the SIM card accordingly:
    - Make a phone call to the SIM card and see if it gets through.
    - Check with your operator if the SIM card supports GPRS and a local APN.
    - Check if the GT02A is at a bad GSM/GPS reception area.
    - Check if your SIM card is overdue or not active.
    - Check if there is a bad or loose wiring connection.
    - Check if the fuse has blown out.

GT06

GPS Tracker GT06 should be installed in a secure position where it is hidden from view and is properly protected from sharp metal objects, heat radiation, moisture and moving parts. The recommended areas of installation are:

a) Inside the dashboard under the front windshield. However if the windshield has a metallic type window film installed, it may affect the reception of GPS. Change the installation location if this is the case.

GT06 has a built in GSM and GPS antenna. For better and more effective GPS reception, please make sure that the receiving surface (surface with “Smart GPS tracker” logo printed on it) is facing upwards with no metallic objects above it.

  • The GT06 should be installed as covertly as possible so that it will be difficult for car thieves to remove them.
  • Keep the BL-GT06 away from high power electronic devices, such as reverse sensors, anti-theft device or other vehicle communication equipment.
  • Use cable ties or double sided tape to keep the BL-GT06 at a stand still position so that it will not shake when the car is moving.

How to Install the Tracker

Troubleshooting:

1) After install the device at the first time, if the device cannot get connected with the online live tracking platform, and it is showed “Not Logged In” status on the online live tracking platform. Please check the installation of device:

  1. Check if there is a bad or loose wiring connection, please do not connect it with the control line of the car.
  2. Check if the SIM card is installed correctly, please refer to the installation manual;
  3. Check if the power switch is toggled to “ON”, the switch is in the left of the SIM card’s slot.
  4. Check if the ACC ignition cable is connected, please turn on the ACC with key after it is connected.
  5. Check the LEDs’ status. In normal working status, the red LED is solid bright or flashing; green LED and blue LED both are solid bright.
  6. Check if GPS is located, if not, please drive to the open areas for positioning.

2) If the device is “offline” status in platform. First of all, check the three LEDs’ status. If it is not convenient to check that, please check the SIM card status:

  1. Call the SIM card number of the device to check whether you can get through;
  2. Check if the vehicle is in no GSM area, such as basement;
  3. Check the GSM/GPS disconnection area, whether it is all disconnected or few of them disconnected, to make sure whether it is the fault of operator’s internet.
  4. Check whether your SIM card charge is overdue;
  5. Check whether the SIM card supports GPRS;
  6. Check the parameter setup, whether the IMEI number of the device and GPRS sending interval is correct;

3) If GPS is activated, but the device don’t locate for a long time, please check whether the installation is correct:

  1. Please make sure the GPS antenna face is up;
  2. 2) Please make sure there is no electromagnetic wave-absorbent object (metal) above the device, especially the thermal-protective coating on the windshield, it may affect the GPS reception;

4) There is no GPS reception.

  1. Drive your vehicle outdoors for better GPS signal connectivity. Generally it takes 1-2 minutes to receive the first coordinates.
  2. Check your installation position if you still have not received GPS signal, make sure there is no metal objects above BL-GT06.

5) There is no GSM reception.

  1. Check if your SIM card is installed correctly.
  2. Your car may be located in an area with weak or no GSM signal (e.g. underground car parking lots). Drive away from your current location and try again.

6) When the cellphone with special number receives a SMS of power cut off alarm, please make sure whether it is illegal wire cut off, or the FUSE is blown. If the FUSE is blown, please contact with your distributor to replace the FUSE(the same model), after the internal fault is solved, it can work again.
